The Jeweled Garden

Gabions have been used for a long time.  Then it held rocks to build walls or prevent erosion.

Recycled glass have normally be used as mulch (horizontal applications).  What we did here was use thick enough wire mesh to hold recycled glass vertically forming planters, walls and garden sculptures.

Glass is a timeless material.  We used it in the Jeweled Garden as a substitute for water.  Here you approach a raised outdoor pavilion walking on an elevated wooden path, gazing at a bronze image of Buddha, gently showered by water.

The two main species of trees are contained in recycled glass gabions.  There are five of each tree type.  And in each five there is an odd one...to break uniformity...and bring attention.
